About Ankommo
Ankommo is a German learning platform and free toolkit for international students and professionals building a life in Germany. It offers structured German courses from A1 to B2 (the first chapters of every level are free), plus Goethe and telc mock exams from A1 to B2 with the first set of every format free, and free interactive tools for German salaries, visas, the Chancenkarte, German-style CVs, and everyday bureaucracy.
The courses cover grammar, vocabulary, listening, writing, and Goethe and telc exam preparation: all explained in plain English, grounded in real life in Germany, and built for people who need the language for visas, jobs, university, and citizenship. Not a streak counter.
Who built Ankommo
Ankommo was created by Abdullah, a founder based in Munich with firsthand experience navigating German language requirements as an international professional.
The platform was built after finding that most available resources were either too gamified to be useful, too expensive to access fully, or not designed for people moving to Germany for real reasons: visas, jobs, university, citizenship, and daily life.
Ankommo is designed to fill that gap: structured, practical, and honest about what German learners at each level actually need.
What this site is built on
Five Applications, Five Offers, and 700 Files Since 2022
I’m Abdullah. I applied to five German universities and got into all five, and since 2022 I’ve taken 700+ more people through the same process, on no commission from any university, which is why the shortlist you get is the one that fits you rather than the one that pays. The course side is built here in Munich instead of licensed from a publisher: 109 chapters across A1 to B2, with 13,300+ recorded audio clips sitting behind the vocabulary, grammar and listening work.
