Record Intake, Same Team
420,000
international students in Germany in winter 2025/26, up 9% in one year. Every one of them arrives with the same first-semester paperwork, and no extra staff came with them.
DAAD, Dec 202579%
of universities name visa and entry procedures the top obstacle to hosting international students; housing is second at 71%. The two hardest parts of arriving are also the two your office can least control.

of waiting for a visa appointment reported at the busiest missions. A student in week 19 of that queue has nothing to do but worry, and nobody to write to but you.
Times Higher EducationThe last published staffing figure for German international offices dates from 2015: one member of staff for roughly 2,000 international students, and nobody has printed a better number since. Language schools run the same months with no international office at all, just prepaid bookings sitting in embassy queues and a refund clause waiting at the end of them.
One Code, a Personal Plan, a Live Dashboard
01
You forward one code
The code rides in the admission or booking email you already send; nothing about your process changes. Students sign themselves up around it, which is why no personal data ever passes through your hands.
02
Students build their own plan
Two answers set the route: their passport, and whether they come for a degree or a language course. The plan that comes out knows whether there is an embassy queue or none, carries the current blocked account amount, and opens the tool for each step in place: the blocked account comparison, the insurance check, the Anmeldung deadline.
03
Your team sees the whole picture
One screen shows how far every student is, who has been quiet for two weeks, and which single step the whole intake is stuck on. The answer you keep retyping becomes one email to exactly the students who need it.
No call needed: both demos run on invented students at a fictional Munich language school, live, right now, and they say so on screen.
Every Step Lands on Something Real
A checklist that links to nothing is a poster. Every step in this plan opens something that already runs in production for Ankommoโs public audience, built by a founder with 200,000+ followers watching him explain Germany for a living.
Verified bureaucracy engines
Visa route by passport, the blocked account amount, the Anmeldung deadline: computed from the law and official sources, updated when they change, never typed from memory.
A 109-chapter German course
A1 to B2 with recorded audio throughout. The first chapters of every level are free, so a student can start tonight without a card.
Mock exams in 7 formats
Goethe and telc formats from A1 to B2, built to match the real booklets. Every format's first full set is free.
50+ tools and guides
Anmeldung, insurance, first-month budget, the German CV, transport. The questions your team answers one by one, answered once and kept current.
Five Founding Institutions. Then We Talk Pricing.
Weโre building this with the first five universities and language schools, not for them. A founding partner runs the portal free with a real intake, tells us bluntly where it falls short, and decides what gets built next: your own links and FAQs inside the plan, arrival events, whatever your students turn out to need. When pricing arrives, founding partners keep preferential terms.
The honest limit: this is a young product from a small team. No campus-system integration, no single sign-on, no account manager. What exists is the plan, the dashboard, the platform under them, and a direct line to the person building it; if you need procurement-grade software this quarter, we arenโt it yet.

Start with one email
Two lines are enough: who you are, and roughly how many international students you take per intake. You get a reply from the founder, a short demo call if you want one, and your codes and dashboard link, usually inside a week.

Questions Institutions Ask
What does it cost?
Nothing, for the first five institutions, and not as a trial that quietly expires. The trade is stated up front: you run a young product on a real intake and tell us the truth about it, we learn from anonymized cohort patterns, and you keep preferential terms once pricing exists. Any move to paid starts with a conversation, not an invoice.
How does student data stay clean under GDPR?
Students create their own Ankommo accounts with your code, so no personal data passes through your hands and there is nothing to upload or sync. Your dashboard shows arrival progress and the route each plan is built on: which steps are open, done, or gone quiet, and for how long. It never shows course performance, exam results or anything else a student does on Ankommo, and a data processing agreement is part of onboarding.
What do students actually get?
A personal arrival plan built from two answers, their passport and what they are coming for: visa route, blocked account with the current amount, insurance, Anmeldung, enrolment, transport, in the order they really happen. It lives inside their Ankommo account next to everything else the platform has: a 109-chapter A1โB2 German course, mock exams in 7 exam formats with the first full set free in every format, and 50+ free tools and guides, so the plan is the first thing they open and not the last thing they read.
We already send students a PDF and an email series. Why this?
Keep the PDF; ours would not be better prose. What a PDF cannot do is tell you who read it and who is stuck in week three of it. The plan saves every studentโs ticks, so your team sees the whole cohort at a glance and writes one targeted email instead of the same answer forty times.
How long does setup take?
One conversation. We create your institution, hand you the codes and your dashboard link, and your team pastes the code into the admission or booking email it already sends; nothing is installed and IT is never involved. One honest caveat: the dashboard link is the credential, so treat it like a password. We rotate it the moment you ask.
Something we didnโt answer? Write to hello@ankommo.de. Youโll hear back from the founder, not a funnel.
