The Whole A1 Exam on One Sheet of Paper
Start Deutsch 1 and telc A1 test a small, fixed set of things. Both sides of this sheet hold that set and nothing from later levels, so nothing on it is a distraction.
Sheet 1
The grammar
- Gender from the ending, the plural patterns, the article grid in nominative, accusative and dative
- The three cases and their prepositions, pronouns, and when it is kein and when it is nicht
- The present tense with sein and haben, the stem changes, the seven modal verbs with their meanings
- Separable prefixes, the Perfekt with the participles A1 asks, the imperative and polite requests
Sheet 2
The exam kit
- The verb rails: seven sentences on where the verb goes, plus weil and dass
- Question words, the words for time, numbers, dates and the clock, the going and being chunks
- Sprechen: introducing yourself, spelling your name, the topic cards, the picture cards
- Schreiben: the form vocabulary and the short-message frame, the traps, the sounds that are not English

Is the A1 cheat sheet really free?
Yes. Create a free Ankommo account and the two-page PDF is yours to download and print, along with the first five chapters of the A1 course. No card, no trial timer.
Which exam does it cover?
Start Deutsch 1, which is the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 and the telc Deutsch A1 (one jointly developed exam under two names). The sheet follows its three Sprechen parts and two Schreiben parts exactly.
Can I print it?
It is built for printing: two A4 pages, so double-sided gives you one sheet. The colours are light enough that a black-and-white print loses nothing, because each level chip carries its letters.
Why do I need an account to download it?
Every line on the sheet is a chapter in the course, with audio and exercises. An account gives you both, and lets us send you the sheet again if you lose it. The account is free and takes about thirty seconds with Google or an email address.
Is it enough on its own to pass the exam?
No cheat sheet is. It is the reference you keep next to your desk while you practise, and the thing you re-read the night before. The practice itself, with real exam formats, is in the course.
